Description
Genuine vintage Liz Claiborne Dresses Petites silk mini dress, likely dating from the late 1980s to early 1990s.
Made from 100% silk with an ivory and pale grey geometric jacquard background, overlaid with an irregular black square print. The woven pattern gives the fabric a subtle textured sheen that changes in the light.
The dress has a wide rounded front neckline, short grown-on sleeves, a softly shaped body and a dropped flounced lower skirt. Attached waist ties wrap around and fasten in a bow at the back, allowing the waist to be drawn in. The back has a small keyhole opening with a loop-and-button fastening.
Labelled US Petite 2 and made in China.

Pit to pit: 18–19 inches
Waist: 17 inches
Shoulder to hem: 35 inches
This gives an approximate garment bust of 36–38 inches and waist of 34 inches before cinching with the ties. Likely to suit a modern UK 8–10, with a looser fit on a UK 8 and a closer fit on a UK 10. The pure silk has no stretch. The 35-inch length will sit as a mini or short above-knee dress on most wearers.
