Description
True vintage oversized shirt, dating from around the late 1980s to mid-1990s.
It has a soft pastel patchwork-style print combining large florals, leafy patterns and decorative geometric panels in peach, coral, sage green, cream, taupe and raspberry pink. The design is printed rather than constructed from separate fabric patches.
Cut in a relaxed longline shape with a pointed collar, loose elbow-length sleeves, button-through front and small side vents at the hem. Finished with translucent pearlescent buttons.
The original maker’s label is no longer present. The white “Bonelli Gilberte” strip inside the neckline appears to be an added personal name label rather than the brand.
The worn international size label shows GB 18 but best for is a modern UK 14-16. It measures roughly 21-22 inches pit to pit, giving approx 42-44 inch chest.
Made from lightweight woven fabric with a soft, fluid feel. The faded label appears to contain “100 CO”, suggesting cotton, but the fibre text is too worn to confirm with complete certainty.
Good wearable vintage condition. The size and care label is heavily faded and frayed, and one button missing from the very top collar – but you can’t really notice it and it is wearable without.
Lovely worn buttoned with linen trousers, denim or a midi skirt, or open over a vest as a lightweight summer layer. Suitable for spring, summer, holidays, casual days, relaxed workwear and colourful vintage outfits.
